Our Teachers and Classes
Mr. David Zahn
Mr. Zahn has been teaching since 2004, spending his entire career here at VCS. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Bible, and a Master's degree in Secondary Education, both from Pensacola Christian College.
Mr. Zahn's favorite thing about teaching is, "Teaching kids about God - the whole 'aha' moment when a truth dawns in a mind. And grossing out middle schoolers going through the book of Judges!"
Mr. Zahn teaches Bible using an independent curriculum. Bible classes are required every year that a student is enrolled at VCS. Topics have included the Proverbs, Biblical Ethics, Old Testament Survey, and New Testament Survey. Mr. Zahn also assists Mrs. Frey in teaching Drama.
Mrs. Nancy Frey
Mrs. Frey has been teaching since 1985, coming to VCS in 1986. She stayed home from 1993-2006 to raise the Frey's daughter, and returned to teaching in 2007. Mrs. Frey holds a Bachelor's degree in English Secondary Education from Sioux Falls Christian College.
Mrs. Frey's favorite thing about teaching is, "seeing students come to understand and internalize ideas and concepts, not only in academic areas, but also and most importantly, in their spiritual lives and walk with the Lord."
Mrs. Frey instructs students in English Language Arts, using A Beka, Bob Jones, and independent curriculum. Language Arts is studied every year that a student is enrolled at VCS. In addition, High School seniors study Speech and Composition. Topics learned include grammar, effective writing, and literature. Mrs. Frey also teaches Yearbook and Drama.
Mr. Glenn M Frey
Mr Frey has been teaching since 1986, spending his entire career here at VCS. He is also the Administrator here at VCS. Mr. Frey holds a Bachelor's degree in Architecture from the University of New Mexico and a Master's degree in Christian School Education from Columbia Bible College.
Mr. Frey's favorite thing about teaching is, "Working with God's next generation - to help prepare them to serve Him. It is a blessing to work with the students God has brought to Victory. It is very rewarding to see them grow in their walks with God and put Him first in their lives."
Mr Frey teaches science using A Beka curriculum. All High School students are required to take Physical Science, Biology, and Chemistry. Physics is offered as an elective.
Mrs. Lisa Miller
Mrs. Miller has been teaching since 1995 and has spent all of her teaching years here at VCS. She holds two Bachelor's degrees, one in Mathematics and one in Mathematics Education, both from Dickinson State University.
Mrs. Miller's favorite thing about teaching is, "Interacting with the students, teaching them attributes of God's character seen in mathematics, and rejoicing with them when they understand a math concept."
Mrs. Miller teaches the mathematics courses using A Beka and Bob Jones curriculum. All High School students are required to take Algebra 1 and 2, and Geometry. Pre-Calculus is offered as an elective.
History & Social Science
The teaching of History is currently a joint effort of the VCS staff.
History and Social Science are taught using ABeka curriculum. All High School students take Government/Geography, World History, and US History. Economics is offered as an elective.
Mr. Lyle Miller
Mr. Miller started teaching in 1997, and has spent his entire teaching career here at VCS. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from Dickinson State University and a Master's degree in Vocal Performance from the University of New Mexico.
Mr. Miller's favorite thing about teaching is, "Watching students understand new ideas, making beautiful music, and seeing students create something beautiful, meaningful, and memorable. Also, being able to teach my love of sacred and classical music, along with other styles of music."
Mr. Miller teaches Music to grades K-12. Middle School students participate in a combined singing and hand chime choir. Choir is offered to our High School students as an elective, and most choose to participate. Mr. Miller also offers private voice or piano lessons to those who are interested.
Miss Virginia Venn
Foreign Language is offered to our students through Rosetta Stone. All High School students are required to take two years of Foreign Language, with a third year available as an elective. The Foreign Language requirement is waived for our foreign students, since English is their second language.

Mr. Glenn M Frey
Sports teams are offered as a sufficient number of interested students are available. We currently offer Ladies' Volleyball, Men's Basketball, and Men's & Ladies' Track and Field.
