TO OUR FAMILIES
VCS Parents and Friends
This is a letter that no superintendent ever wants to send to the families in their school. Our
board and administration have been praying and discussing the Coronavirus worldwide situation
for several months. After examining the current information about the Coronavirus, the VCS
board has decided to follow Governor Grisham’s lead and will cancel classes for the next three
weeks. We want to provide as safe an environment as possible for our students, faculty and staff.
This will go into effect at the end of today’s school events (extended care and drama practice).
There will be no school activities during these three weeks. It will mean that we will also not
participate in the piano festival tomorrow (they hope to reschedule the festival in April). We will
resume classes on Monday – April 6, 2020.
We will move Easter vacation from April 6-10 to March 16-20. We will not have classes during
the two weeks of March 23 – April 3. We will be posting assignments for all grades on our
website for the 10 days during March 23 – April 3. These assignments will begin to post during
next week and will be on VCS’s home webpage at . They will be organized by
grade level. Assignments are expected to be completed and turned in when student returns to
class on Monday – April 6th. You may contact your teacher if there are questions or your student
needs help to finish their assignments.
Our board and administration will continue to monitor the situation during these three weeks.
We will continue to communicate with your family by email if there are any developments
during this time. Thank you for your cooperation and help during this time. Please feel free to
contact me if I can help your family in any way.
